WHEELER STREET RECONSTRUCTION: FOURTH AVENUE WATERMAIN CONNECTION

Construction on Wheeler Street is well underway. 

As part of this work, a major water main connection along Fourth Avenue is scheduled for the weekend of July 28-31. 

In an effort to minimize disruptions to traffic, the work is scheduled to start on the evening of Friday, July 28 and be completed prior to 7:00am on the morning of Monday, July 31.   

The roadway will be signed for construction. Please watch for heavy equipment and obey speed limits and construction crew. Thank you for your consideration during this construction period.

As a reminder, work on Wheeler Street will continue until end October 2017 (Phase 1) and resume from May to October 2018 (Phase 2).

WHEELER STREET RECONSTRUCTION: FOURTH AVENUE TO THE ESCARPMENT

Sidhu Trucking will be reconstructing Wheeler Street from Fourth Avenue to the escarpment during the 2017 and 2018 construction seasons.  The project will be phased as follows:

 

Phase 1 will take place from July 10 to end of October 2017:

  • Construction from Fourth Avenue to Sixth Avenue including the portions of Fifth & Sixth Avenues between Wheeler Street and Black Street. 
  • This phase also includes a watermain extension to Cook Street through the park at the end of Wheeler Street.

Phase 2 to take place from May to October 2018:

  • Construction from Sixth Avenue to the escarpment including the portions of Seventh & Eighth Avenues between Wheeler Street and Black Street.

The roadways will be signed for Construction, please watch for heavy equipment and obey speed limits.  Property access may be restricted to alleyways at times during construction.  It is expected that normal working hours will be from 7:00am to 5:30pm, 7 days per week, with occasional longer days for critical work items.
